“I think that if you’re passionate about something and if you’re driven and you’re focused, then you can pretty much do anything that you want to do in life“- Dave Grohl. Ever since the womb, it was apparent I had a passion for anything music related. My mother participated in the cute and scientifically proven act of putting headphones on her very pregnant belly playing artists like Nirvana for “little” 11.5 pound in utero (pun intended) me to listen to. I have no doubt that simple act paved the way for me. Nothing in this world brings me more joy, inspiration, and straight euphoria than listening to music. For me, music isn’t just notes, instruments, and a chorus. I find all aspects of it fascinating. I research recording labels, producers, instruments, movements, musicians, and everything in between. Aaaah Musicians. They are some of the most intriguing individuals on the planet. To name off a few of my personal favorite artists would be a cruel act to fall upon my shoulders; however I have some ride or die artists: Foo Fighters, Nirvana, James Taylor, Jack White, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Rolling Stones, Led Zeppelin, and so many more. Part of the reason why I started this blog is because I want people to learn about why musicians (big and especially local) are important. The most important part of this blog to me is shedding more light on local musicians, and people in the Sacramento area who are contributing to the performing arts. Sacramento California is my hometown; I’ve lived in the same house my entire life. I have met so many amazing people (young in age and in heart) who deserve more recognition. Their hard work and dedication to the music industry is awe-inspiring. It takes a lot of courage, time, money, and hard work, and yet they have the passion and the drive to accomplish something great. Join me in learning what makes music so fun, so challenging, so important.
